John Mark Griffin

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Griffin worked a number of years in the banking industry as a investment securities analyst, stock and bond trader and stock and bond portfolio manager. He was involved with managing millions of dollars in investment funds for hundreds of clients. These investment funds included taxable stock and bond funds, deferred-tax stock and bond retirement funds and municipal bond funds.

John Mark Griffin obtained his doctorate of jurisprudence from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1988. He obtained a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1986 and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from that same university in 1982. Both his MBA and BS degrees focused on finance as an emphasis. He is licensed to practice law in Tennessee (1990), Mississippi (1989) and Ohio (2004) and is admitted to practice in both Federal and State Courts.

Mr. Griffin has practice law for more than thirty-seven (37) years. He has represented individuals hurt by the negligence of others and he has collected millions of dollars for his clients in jury verdicts, judgments, meditations and settlements against insurance companies and corporations for the injuries and damages suffered by his clients. He has handled numerous cases which resolved for $1,000,000.00 or more. His multimillion dollar awards have earned him a membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He has also received recognition by The National Trial Lawyers – Top 100 Civil Plaintiff’s lawyer and holds a membership in the American Institute of Trial Lawyers – Litigator of the Year. Additionally, Mr. Griffin is a member of Lawyer of Distinction and the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys. He primarily focuses his practice on representing individuals injured in automobile crashes, truck crashes, wrongful death claims, nursing home abuse, and dangerous premises cases (slip and falls).

John Mark is a founding member of Warren & Griffin, P.C., where he has served and continues to serve as secretary/treasurer of the firm as well as co-managing member. Mr. Griffin is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, Chattanooga Bar Association, Mississippi Bar Association, Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, American Association for Justice and the American Bar Association. He also served as an officer for the Chattanooga Trial Lawyer Association. Over his almost four decades of practicing law, Mr. Griffin has represented clients at every court level including Trial Courts, Appeals Courts and Supreme Court as well as both State and Federal administrative courts.

Away from the office, John Mark enjoys playing golf, supporting his local community (particularly his love of live music), traveling with his wife and family and following professional and college football, major league baseball and the English Premier League. He and his wife Susan live in Chattanooga and have four children.
